A New Boat for Sailability

Utilising the funds raised from our comedy night last year and other fundraising activities along with a matching district grant, the E-Club 1070 has been able to purchase a new boat for Northampton Sailability, based at Pitsford reservoir.

The boat is a Hansa Access 303 class with two seats, pictured below.

The boat was presented to representatives of the Sailability charity on the evening of our charter on Saturday 28 January at Greens Restaurant, Collingtree Park Golf club.  To say that Sailability are delighted with the boat is an understatement.  Roy Child, chairman of Sailability, said that their boats are getting older and are wearing out and to receive a new boat is a real bonus.

BBC Radio Northamptons’  Stuart Linnell,  interviewed Steve Howe, IPP of the E-Club, on Thursday 19 January to talk about Sailability and the opportunities it offers to disabled people.  He played interviews recorded at Pitsford reservoir with Roy Child and Barbara Hogg on Wednesday 18 January.
